Another familiar location that is an NPS location next to Independence Hall is the Merchants Exchange Building which is located at 3rd and Walnut.  Lots of people recognize the building but have no idea what the building is.  The architecture is beautiful and the area in front of it is an old cobblestone which works well for photos (and is horribly inconvenient for heels).  There is a little quaint alley adjacent to the building that works well for a shot or two as well.  Its a bold backdrop and a popular spot for photos.

*this location requires permits through the National Parks Service and runs typically around $175.  NPS books in 1 hour periods and they give the option to do multiple locations under the same $175 permit.
